Hi friends!
Happy new year and cheers to another year of projects and crafts. The hi, friend gals and I surely have some fun tricks up our sleeves in 2012...free printables, applicable DIY advice, and pretty things, of course!
I've been finding myself cuddled up on the couch with a warm drink in tow lately, and I wanted to throw something else into my mug besides tea and coffee. That's where I uncovered DIY mulling spices - so easy to make, and so delicious in a winter mug.
Supplies Needed:
1.) 1 cup brown sugar
2.) 2 tsp. ground cinnamon
3.) 1 tsp. ground cloves
4.) 1 tsp. dried ground orange peel
5.) 1 tsp. ground allspice
6.) 1/2 tsp. ground nutmeg
7.) Airtight jar
Step by Step Instructions:
1.) Gather supplies and ingedients above.
2.) Combine brown sugar, cinnamon, cloves, orange peel, all spice and nutmeg in container.
3.) Stir the mixture.
4.) Label your jar. I purchased my air tight chalkboard container from World Market, so I could easily label the jar. I also garnished the container with some red fabric tape, just because!
5.) To use, add 3 tablespoons of mixture and 1/2 cup of water for every 1 cups of cider, juice, or wine. Bring to a boil and stir until dissolved, then reduce to a simmer. Serve immediately or simmer until ready to serve.
6.) Enjoy!
Until next month, happy crafting in the kitchen:)!
